Abducted by aliens please... I got abducted by the sun. Sadly it won.
So guess what?
My legs can change color! Sure it was to bright red but it's still nice to know that they are alive.
Anyway, this weekend I went to Biarritz (which is in the Southwestern part of the country - right next to the Spanish border) with 3 other girls from the program. We took the night train down, which was tiring but cheap. When we arrived it was pouring rain and soooo cold and nothing was open. Not so good. We found a hostel before realizing it was the wrong one so we hopped on a bus and found the other one, sadly not before being soaked to our skins.
It warmed up some this afternoon but not enough for the daring beach adventure so we grabbed food and walked around the area quite a bit, which was enjoyable. After that we went back to the hostel only to get woken up by the scary girl in the room coughing and coughing and coughing.
Then she left the room, and coughed all the way up the stairs. Then she turned around and coughed all the way out the back the door. Then she came back in and coughed all the way to the bathroom where she proceeded to throw up. Then she left the bathroom and coughed her way back to the room and into her bed. Gotta love hostels.
Luckily it warmed up quite a bit, to the point that Sunday it was over 95. This made for a great day of lying on the beach. All day. Oh and playing in the water cuz let's face it we're not too cool for that. Anyway to make a long story short (haha), Julia is a bright red tomato, except for on her shoulders which are a seriously dark tan. Some things don't make sense.
Then we came back, on the night train yet again.
Sadly though, I don't know if it was the sun and dehydration, or me just being sick and losing the battle, but I have spent the entire day in bed. Which isn't good cuz I missed out on cool French site-seeing. Oh well. The weekend was totally worth it.
