Once upon a time I posted on this blog much more regularly. I was good at it, and even though most of my postings were bold faced lies, I think it was entertaining. Now though, my posts consist mostly of my lack of posting. A once a year "oops I forgot I had a blog" moment. I'm trying to move past that.

A year ago, I finished my second novel, The Quest for Caldaria. I published it on CreateSpace and have been working diligently on finishing the third ever since. I am about 2/3 of the through it. I wish I could say writing was easy, but it's not. I have random moments were my brain just stops creating, and I don't have any way to get it started again. I am having one of those moments right now. Writer's Block 101. I should teach a class.

The feeling of finishing a novel is like finishing high school or college. You have this accomplishment sitting in front of you, and then you realize that you have no idea what you should do with it. It's rather terrifying. With my 3rd book, it's even worse. It's the conclusion of the Caldaria Trilogy, and it's kind of like finally finishing grad school, and you still don't have a plan.

(I never went to grad school, so I'm having to assume here.)

I digress, however, because mostly right now, I am avoiding writing. I still am lost as to where to take the story, and my boyfriend's suggestion of all of the characters getting into a Final Four basketball match-up to figure out who wins doesn't quite fit the context of the book. I should probably think of something else.

Like a Mario Kart race...

Hi!! You could create an author's website w/regular blog posts, then link your author's Facebook page & a Twitter page, too. Then search Twitter for key words & start following people that might be interested. Then they may follow you back. (There are websites out there to help automate the searching/following of Twitter accounts. Follow readers & authors.) It's a next step, anyway. :) You could send copies of your books to well established reviewers online, too. :)

lol I have your RSS feed come into my reader of sorts. :)

I literally just stumbled on this. It's <a href="http://www.writingexcuses.com/2012/03/11/>a podcast</a> where one of my fave authors talks about how he got his name out there before he became famous. Maybe this will help? Good luck!!!

See, the problem is that you only have three books in your series. When I get writer's block on, say, book five, I just go to book sixteen and find out there is no writer's block.

I also never write in chronological order. I write the chapters I want to write first and then come back to the others and guess what? Since I, the writer have to like what I'm writing, if I've done a good job, I want to know what happens in those last, unfinished chapters.

Best of luck with your books.
