Hi all!

Well well well... Patrick thinks I'm lame because I haven't had any flings yet. But hey what can a girl do? Well actually I could go out with the Italian guy who actually called me. It's amazing how after completely striking out on Sunday he is willing to keep trying. Luckily my roommate answered the phone so I didn't have to talk to him, because frankly, he creeps me out more than anything. (I didn't even give him my number - those receptionists patched him through.) Oh well, I guess I am turning down a fling.

So anyways, yesterday was one of those days that managed to salvage alot of the summer. It was, quite simply, one of the best days of my life. I think I have finally gathered some maturity so I can appreciate site-seeing in a way I never did before.

The day started out with us all showing up at Notre Dame at 8 in the morning. We proceeded to head out to a cafe and have coffee and croissants. At nine we entered Notre Dame and headed to the top. One of the most amazing views ever. When we got back down I had an interesting encounter with one of the homeless guys hanging around. I was chatting with a group of girls when he came up to us and started making weird noises. Then he came up to me and whispered at me "you wanna fuck?". Naturally I was slightly disturbed. I have to say I am a little bit disappointed in myself. There are very points in life where you get the opportunity to legitimately cuss somebody out. I however just said loudly "Back off" and walked away. I've let myself down...

After we walked over to Saint-Chapelle, where I had to give a presentation on it's history. This presentation was a highlight, since I didn't write it out in advance and just spoke, in French, from my notes. It was an amazing accomplishment. Apparently I did well too.

After we headed to the Conciergie and then had lunch. Four of us found a cafe where I had a salade nicoise (so good!) and the we walked to the musee Cluny. You won't believe this, but I was one of the last of the group to leave. I just loved looking at all of this old Roman artifacts and architecture. It was fascinating getting a peak into the way they lived. Oh and they had these really old stone coffins in their, and let's face it... that's just cool.

Next about 10 of us went out for drinks (what can I say?). (You all should try combining guiness and champagne - it's one high quality French drink that about 5 of us shared.) After 5 of us split off and decided to walk down the Champs Elysee. We ended up walking all the way down (grabbing a bite to eat on the way) to the Arc de Triumphe. We then used our impressive student status to get free access to climb up (which we were amazed we got away with). An amazing view yet again.

After that we headed back to the campus where we found a spot on the grass and drank some wine chatted with 5 other girls from our group. (So no worries Jordan - I drank some wine.) I went to bed at about 2am.

All in all a very impressive - and long - day.
