Ok so my apologies for the lack of updating the past couple of days. Life has been crazy! It's been pretty fantastic though too, so it's all good (and worth the large number of blisters developing on my feet).
So thursday was a good day. We went to see this modern art museum that was both really fascinating and also kind of creepy. My favorite part was this sculpture made of paint splatters and skulls. Quite creative I should say.
After a group of us went out to eat and decided to walk around Paris. We just picked a direction and started walking and somehow ended up at the stock exchange. Then we kept walking and ended up at the Palais Royale. It was very beautiful. We went from there to the Louvre, but since we are going there as a class for a couple of days and it was after hours we choose to not go in. Instead we got into a very lovely conversation with a nice cross-dresser we met. His name was Christie. He had a bright pink and light blue outfit and nails and a hat that matched. (Not to mention some very stylish makeup.) He wanted to know all about the states and the popular music there so we gave him some suggestions.
The next day a group of us girls decided to go to the Catacombs and saw lots of skeletons. Lots and lots. And lots and lots. It was definitely a highlight. We then decided to walk down the Champs Elysees again and go shopping. It was at this point my shoes decided that they didn't like me anymore and we got in a fight. It was a bitter battle, but in the end I won and kept walking anyway. Unfortunately my poor feet have been paying the price ever since. Later that night we went to dinner at an Italian place and somehow ended up singing the Moulin Rouge love medley in the metro (no one was around).
Today we went and saw Sacre Coeur, which was gorgeous to no one's surprise. We then walked around and passed by the Moulin Rouge (all you need is love!). We then went to two different graveyards where I saw the graves of Alexandre Dumas and Jim Morrison. (We all seem to have a death theme going on...)
In short I am having a phenomenally good time. Sadly though, tomorrow I must do homework because I have quite a bit to do amazingly enough. (It is 15 credits after all - we have 6 hours of class monday, tuesday and thursday plus scheduled class visits all day wednesday. Totally worth it though.)
Oh the Italian guy keeps calling and has been telling my friends to tell me hello for him. Apparently though, he isn't even Italian. He's some random mix. What a liar...
Anything exciting going on on that side of the world?
